If you’re thinking about getting a website, and let’s face it, if you’re in business you should already have one, then you should make sure that what you purchase is a CMS. This video explains what a CMS is, and why you should make sure your new web design is based on a CMS. Check it out!

Think about it. If you are going to get your web designer to change something like the text or a picture on your home page, how are you going to go about it? Simple, you are going to email her the new text or the new picture right? So why are you paying her $75 an hour to simply take your information and push it up onto your website.

With a website built using CMS, you can simply log on to your own website and upload the new text or the new picture onto your website, click Publish, and your done! The website changes instantly!

OK – so I spend a lot of time telling you why you need a website, but what if you are a new business owner and you haven’t even got a logo? Well I have owned a lot of businesses over the years, and I have experimented with many different ways to get a logo, but one of the more recent places I heard about really intrigued me. It’s called Hatchwise.com, and here’s how it works:

You create an account on Hatchwise for $29

You create a logo design contest, offering a cash prize to the winning designer – for example $150.

You then complete some information about what you are looking for in a logo.

Hatchwise posts the project out to its group of designers, and for the next 10 days, the designers create various types of sample logos for you based on the questionnaire you completed.

You pick a winner, pay them their prize money (all done through Hatchwise using Paypal), and Hatchwise emails you all of the various logo files for the logo that you’ve choosen.

It’s the coolest thing! You get access to dozens of designers, and their creative ideas about what your logo should look like, plus you get to dictate how much you pay for the end product!

Another cool feature is that you can rate the logo designs along the way and even post comments about them. The other designers get to see your comments and ratings, and it helps them to better understand what it is that you are looking for.

If you need a new logo, I highly recommend heading over to http://www.hatchwise.com.
